hoodex youth fitness hub – Giving Young People a Real Second Chance
From an empty shop to a thriving community space — supporting local youth through mentoring, sport, and opportunity.
The Hub Is Open – And This Is Just the Beginning
The soft opening of The Hub on 8 July marked an important milestone for HoodEx Charity.
What was once the old Hoult's Butchers has been transformed into a welcoming community space thanks to the incredible generosity, skills and commitment of local tradespeople, businesses, volunteers and community supporters.
The Hub is home to our Turn-Around mentoring project, providing a place where young people can build confidence, develop new skills and access positive support. It's also somewhere the wider community can come together over a coffee, connect with others and discover the work HoodEx is doing to create brighter futures.
While we're proud of how far we've come, this is only the beginning. The Hub will continue to grow over the coming months as we develop new activities, improve our facilities and create even more opportunities for local young people.

Supporting Our Turn-Around Mentoring Project
Everything that happens at The Hub supports HoodEx Charity's Turn-Around mentoring project.
Income generated through the café, retail sales, venue hire, fundraising and community support helps us continue creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop life skills and make positive choices for the future.
By visiting The Hub, making a purchase, hiring the fitness suite or supporting our work, you're helping us continue turning around young lives.
Building Something Together
The Hub has only been made possible thanks to the generosity of volunteers, local tradespeople, businesses, community groups and supporters who have given their time, skills and resources.
Although we've opened our doors, the project is still evolving. We have exciting plans, from developing our facilities and activities to improving the outside of the building and creating an even more welcoming environment for everyone who visits.
There is still plenty to do, and we're always looking for people who would like to get involved.
Whether you're interested in volunteering, becoming a mentor, supporting the charity, hiring the fitness suite or simply popping in for a coffee, we'd love to welcome you.
This first stage is a huge achievement, but it's only the beginning.
